Chairman welcomes website launch

Speaking at the launch Glendale Herbert, Chairman, said; ‘I greatly welcome the launch of the newNevis Community Foundation website. It is a very important milestone in the Foundation’sdevelopment. It sets out very clearly the aims and purpose of the Foundation, and how people canget involved as supporters and donors’.

Bank account opened

The Nevis Community Foundation has now opened its bank account with the St Kitts-Nevis-AnguillaNational Bank in Charlestown. Chairman Glendale Herbert explained: ‘this means that we are now ina position to start taking local donations to the Foundation. We are also in the process of setting upan online donation system to make it easier for people to donate to the Foundation, and registeringwith tax authorities abroad to enable donors to claim tax relief in the country

Community Foundation development phase to build supporter and donor networks

Having registered with the Nevis Island Administration as a non profit company, developed its by-laws and Code of Conduct, and launched its website, the Nevis Community Foundation is nowstarting the development phase to build a network of supporters and donors to underpin its work.This will comprise a twelve month period of meetings and discussions with a wide range of people toexplain the purpose of the Foundation and to get people involved in its work.

Directors sign up to Code of Conduct

The Nevis Community Foundation is committed to operating in an open and transparent way. TheDirectors have signed up to a Code of Conduct that sets out the principles that they will adhere tosuch as integrity, honesty and accountability. The Code also sets out the duties and responsibilitiesof Directors, and has specific sections on conflict of interest, register of interests and aconfidentiality statement.
